MORE ABOUT NICHOLE
Biography
Nichole Cosgrove, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with the AANP currently specializing in pain management at Algone Premier with a background in pain management, mental health nursing, and freelance medical writing.
Nichole is originally from Nebraska. After graduating from Saint Mary College in Leavenworth, Kansas with Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Psychology, she served as an operations manager in the transportation industry over an 8-year period, first as a train dispatcher with Union Pacific Railroad and then as a fleet manager with Werner Enterprises before embarking on her nursing journey.
After graduating from Clarkson College with her BSN, she began her nursing career in the mental health sector working as a psych nurse on an inpatient child/adolescent behavioral unit in Omaha. A life changing event that required multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation over a 6-year period eventually drew her to pain management. During her recovery, she was able to advance her education by obtaining a Master’s degree at Clarkson College to become a family nurse practitioner where she graduated at the top of her class.
Nichole worked in rural Nebraska providing pain management services for 4+ years prior to relocating to Alaska with her husband, son, and the family cat while moving even further away from her “adopted” daughter who lives in Germany that they welcomed into their family when she was a visiting exchange student. She is an avid sports fan, loves Nebraska Cornhusker football and Chicago Cubs baseball, watching movies with thriller and horror genres being her favorite, and spending time with her family and friends.
